Savannah and Tybee Island
Sure, it is not St. Patties weekend but Savannah is sweet. Very lively at night time, with brick streets and seafood restaurants all over. It reminded me of Old San Juan back at home. It sure is fit for romantic escape. Took us four hours from Chamblee to Savannah. Long but manageable.
We stayed at the Mansion on Forsyth using Jojos Marriott Reward points and since we are platinum members we got an upgrade. We did great with taking his mercedez rental, all the car there were on that range. Sure my Cadi kicks ass, but the mercedez played the part better.
We walked about 15 minutes off the hotel and the streets were filled of history and stories. We had reservations in some other place but ended up in Alligator Soul. There were exotic dishes, I ended up having bison ribs and Jojo had an exotic lasagna. In Alligator Soul we had from savory cheeses, a nice cold beer (Whale Tales Pale Ale, try saying that five times fast!). We also tasted alligator meat on a bayou pilau. Jojos dish included ostrich meatball as well as kangaroo! My stomach flipped for a bit and a tear was shed but I tasted the kangaroo meat. It tasted good, far better than the ostrich.
We hunted sports bars so we could see the Silva vs Weidman match,the concierge recommended Wings Cafe, but happened they weren't showing the match. Everyone was pissed. Im just happy i bet against Jojo on Weidman and he kicked assed as we later read on the internet. Before heading back to the hotel we left to Moes, who are open until 3 Am on the weekends! Yay! Used my 5 dollar gift card on a huge soda, water and cookie an it was 5 on the spot. Keep the surveys coming!
Next morning we went to Tybee Beach, a very sunny day! It was nice, we didn't dare to get close to the water, we are way to spoiled because of our hone beaches. We had food at Fannies On the Beach, i had a shrimp burger, it was okay. The Rizzarita drink that Jojo had was great!
Trip ended and it was great!
