Twin City!

This "lucky" girl is in Minneapolis for work. Work is going tough, lots of learning and it is amazing. Everyone is so nice and polite! And tall!

Last time I was in MN was about 08' and 09' around my 21st birthday. I came for a twins game versus red sox and of course, my team is red sox. Then to see Jeff Dunham. Im both cases i went to the infamous Mall Of America. Everyone at work keeps asking me when I am going. They told me there is no tax on clothes and shoes here! But my adoring boyfriend wants me to wait for him, since he arrives on next Friday to visit. Im not sure I can wait thar long!

I already begged him to bring a bigger suitcase so we can switch here. As I can fully pscked because I packed last minute. I knew tgis trip was coming, but not an exact date. I came to work on Monday, and was ask if i could fly the next morning, sure, why not? But that meant a lot of work needed to get incorporated before leaving. Left work at 9 pm straight to pack as fast and tight as I could.

When i got to MN i bought a groupoj (of course) for some zumba, yoga and dance classes. Toa t least and try to mantain myself since I have recently gain 10 more pounds and going through some health issues. So far, loving the workouts.

But, me not stop being me, have some intsresting stories since landing. I left my new lumia 1020 on the tram train and iw as extremely lucky that a kind soul found it and returned it. Then, i got A Buick Enclave again, but my mentor had the funniest thing happen. The guy asked him if he wanted the camaro and he didin't doubt it and walked to it but out of now where someone apperantly beat him to it and drove away, his face was priceless, got stuck with an altima. I just missed my good friend Z who was here last week, and I ber we would have had a blast at MOA. Our gps, tend to say places are much closer than what they really are, so I just say they use Minesottan miles, since they are pretty much tall, and can get faster to places.

We have gone to eat to several restaurants, always getting lost. We went to red lobster twice, not by choice, but because of course, I left the companys credit card there. The kind waiter saved it. Lucky, again. We also wen't to eat at The Good Earth Restaurant, delishes, a lot of gluten free and vegetarian options, loved it. The flat bread appetizer is amazing, and my tilapia was to die for. Granite city, awesome as always. It is a microbrewery, so i tried their octoberfest, good stuff and some idaho nachos, yum! Don't have to work tomorrow so all its good in the hood. I think i will do some zumba, maybe some yoga, not sure if some shopping, but I definitely need a blow-out, my hair is critical!

So far, so Minessotta, so good!

Whiskey Visiting, Boxing views, Football Cherry-popping and Concerthopping Weekend!!

This Whiskey trip I originally wanted to do it for my Birthday, but for some reason last month they wouldn't do a tasting tour on Sunday. They started giving sampling tours very recently. I asked Jojo if he wanted to do it for his 25th Birthday, and him being a whiskey lover too, accepted eagerly. It kind of suck that our friends were busy or weren't up to do the trip with us because it was Awesome. My dear friend Rita came to town from Rochester, NY and so wanted to come with us, but Yuani had to  pick her up from the airport that day, because she actually arrived on whiskey trip day.

Yuani and I had sworn she was arriving Friday where we were having a Girls Night Out Party at Melting Pot. The Girls Night was epic, the night surrounded of dipping goodness, two bottles of wine and one of champagne. We laughed our guts out. I wasn't feeling very good, haven't lately, so I decided to cut the night short and leave with the other northern Georgia gal, Yuani, back to the suburbs, and leave the two down-townies (Liz & Zuleika) to the fun.

On Saturday, the trip started great, the day was beautiful. We found it was hilarious that you have to cross from Georgia to Tennessee, back to Georgia and then again to Tennessee to get to Lynchburg.

The Sampling tours where beginning to be sold out, so we bought a later tour and cruised the old town. Fun fact, Lynchburg is a DRY County. So it doesn't sell alcohol. You won't even  find a beer in any restaurant!

We had lunch at Whiskey runners, food was good, I liked their chicken and mac and cheese. They were impressed with Jojo's appetite, as he ordered two entrees and ate it all. It was normal for me.

The tour takes around the distillery, it shows you pretty neat stuff and educational things. It raise your hope of buying your own barrel of whiskey, like Gretchen Wilson or Dolly. A barrel is around 9K, I think I can afford that luxury some day. There was a part they take you the one of the process stages and ask guys like Jojo, in fact he helped out, to fan out the big wooden lid from it so we could catch a smell, the smell was pure alcohol. This precious old lady shouted “It smells so good” and the rest of us almost died of laughter. I so want to come back with my friends again.

At the end of the tour they give you a very small shots of three of their whiskeys, but not Jack Daniels Honey. It was interesting. They do have a store, where they sell you a “Collector” bottle that happens to have whiskey in it. The only way for them to sell in their store. They only can carry a “Collection” License. It was sad that Jack Daniels HONEY hadn't a collector bottle.

Another neat thing I got to do was “write” on a bottle a short message for Jojo on the Whiskey I bought him for his birthday (spoiled much!). Also, ten minutes down the road (in another county) we found a liquor store with great specials, where I bought some gifts from. The attendant there, a young man with appereance as from India but with a really strong southern accent recomended me to put Jack Honey on the freezer and pour it down on some Vanilla Ice cream. I shall do that experiment! Jojo also got his hands to some Moonshine (legal, of course).

We got back to reunite with Yuani, Rita and Juan to have dinner at Hooters. Then we met with the rest of the Georgia gang to watch the boxing match of Canelo Vs. Mayweather, no comments.

On Sunday, rather than doing the typical touristy run of Atlanta, we opted to going to the Falcons NFL game and what a game! We had a blast and now I have a new respect and taste for watching football. We had dinner that day at Eclipse Di Luna on the Miami Circle, where they have unlimited Sangrias on Sundays and the tapas where delish!

The party didn't end there. Rita's purpose to visit was to go to Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson, Honda Civic tour Concert. It was awesome.

Tuesday morning at 5:00 AM, Rita brews me some puertorican coffee and off we go to the airport to bid farewell to an awesome weekend. I decided since I was heading really early to work, to make a pit stop and buy some cookies and doughnuts for the co-workers.

Day passed  by fast, since it mainly involved may next trip for business next week, I will be in Minneapolis territory. Minnessota here I come!

I left somewhat "early" because I got in super early, to go to bed, since my “sickness” is really kicking up some hard pain and draining my energy, yes, I know, I need to go to the doctor, I will deal with that soon.

But for now, I am praying to have some spare time in Minnessota. My co-workers are not excited and are like, "What is there to do in MN?" Are you kidding me? Three words, MALL OF AMERICA, oh yes and Amen! (P.S. yes, I am the only girl traveling there).

Island Girls At Miami!!!

Our Travel to Miami was a Blast.

A girl weekend getaway! It was fun, energetic and a bit relaxing when we we're "dead" laying down on the Beach.

My favorite picture, taken by me. It sums up our weeekend pretty much.

For Day One, we got in town and Liz cousin and partner (C and  J) picked us up and took us to Iron Sushi. Best Sushi ever with the best prices in town. We ended up going 3 times to that place to eat! We met with the Birthday girl and Liz's cousin, Maly (whose name we found out was apparently very funny, because it resembles a popular drug these days, who knew?). Maly fabulously wore here princess crown the whole trip! Later that night we got all pretty to go out to Mangoes (originally) and ended up in Twist (a gay bar) with Malys friend, Mr. D and we had a blast! We crashed at Mr. D's apartment, who was our semi-host as well and lived right on SOBE (South Beach). On the next day I saw I had cut my feet and never noticed! Scary, I know, the price to pay for being Whiskey Girls.

On Day Two, We were ready to hit the beach, but it was cloudy. We ended up shopping and going to VS for a super sale. Later that afternoon we went to C and J's. J has this amazing apartment, few ocean view, beautiful decoration with Paris details, breathtaking. J cooked authentic Cuban food, that felt much like home for us. It was heaven food. We drank wine and off we went to party number 2. Using one of my hotel reward certificate we booked nearby the Hard rock Cafe Casino and went to Passions Night Club and what a Night. More girls joined us and we made new friends. It was a night to remember and fun taxi ride back to the hotel.

Surviving Day 3, we had Brunch reservations. Brunch was held at around 2:30 PM at The Palace, "Every Queen Needs a Palace". It was great brunch with unlimited mimosas for only around 32 bucks. The Drag show was amazing, those ladies new how to shake it very much. It was fun and tasteful.

We "died" after the limited mimosas right on SOBE and on the beach were we hanged for a while. I wasn't up for much, so we went for dinner, guess where? Yes, Iron sushi and the three of us ended up getting some Frozen yogurt and cruising in front of Versace's House. The rest of the night was spent by the three ladies just browsing on pinterest or FB with our Ipads. We needed to rest for the Labor Day Elektric Beach Party at Nikki Beach.

Day four! The party! I loved it. I am not a crowd person or a party on the beach type. But it started so mellow, we managed to score some drinks and pour some candy into them so our "Happiness" would last longer. They didn't let us pass our coconut water or chips, so we hid them in some bushes and they were still there when we got out.  As time passed by inside the party, more people came but it didn’t bother me. We laid on some towels on the sand, made new friends whom started paying from a Hookah round and some drinks. They were such gentlemen that we had an amazing experience and went with the new friends to have dinner, once again, guess where?!

We left Mr. D some huge bag of gummy bears as a token of appreciation for letting us crash and cruising with us. I used my last reward certificate for one more hotel night, so we could get an airport shuttle to take us that dawn. Liz and I were flying directly home and straight to work. We said good-bye to Maly that night and crashed our beds.

For one, I didn't survive my day at work, and left early for a long nap and to continue working at night.
Liz, tried to managed I am sure, I believe she stuck the whole day at her job! Brava!

This has been by far, one of my best trips ever. Although it has been another slap in my face, " I am getting to old for this!".

Our first "Sight Seeing" Credits to Liz
