Traveling and your dress got a Broken Zipper? Solved: With Pliers

I think I might add pliers to my emergency kit for traveling. The traveling emergency kit List is still on the works. I bought a really pretty dress in forever21 for NYE, but also, since I am visiting my sisters in Louisiana and we are taking pictures, thought I'd used it too. Well, for my surprise the zipper got seperated and I got into panic mode...

Luckily, I turned to one of the best resources I partially owe MY Engineering degree to (Aside from google and the TI-84 calculator, Amen) of course, it is www.youtube.com. Saw this really simple video, and almost couldn't believe how easy the fix was! (To think I have disposed of some jeans and other dresses before, because of this!)

Easy Fix:

Step 1: Pull the zipper all the way done
Step 2: Take a plier (Fromo your kit, your host, or go to the Dollar Tree).
Step 3. Press the top of the zipper a bit or until functional.

Problem Solved!

Here is the video that saved my skin!

Beer Tour at Epcot

My Best Friend Emily and I did the "Epcot Beer tour"  (Along with her "little" brother Jonathan). It ws quite the Experience! We weren't the only ones doing this, the outcome was interesting!

Country/Pavillion and Beer List

1.       Canada
·         Moose Head
2.       UK - Sampler!
·         Bass
·         Harp
·         Strongbow - Fell in love with this one!
·         Boddingtons
·         Guinness
3.       France
·         Blanc
4.       Morocco
·         Casablanca
5.       Japan
·         Kirin Draft Beer (Frozen)
6.       USA
·         Leinenkugel Bery Weiss
7.       Italy
·         Moretti
8.       Germany
·         Altenmünster Oktoberfest
9.       Africa
·         Safari Amber
Þ                        American Beer from Anheuser-Busch -> Budweiser & Michelob, etc.
10.   China
·         Tsingtao
11.   Norway
·         Carlsberg
Þ                       Not actually a Norwegian beer.  Server mentioned it was from Denmark and that it was similar to Norwegian beer. After researching a bit, I read that the actual Norwegian beer, Ringnes, was in fact served in Epcot at Norway Pavillion, but the beer was bought by Carlsberg Group back in 2004.   During that transition Ringnes stopped selling and Carlsberg rose.
12.   Mexico
·         Dos Equis

Below some pictures and I will soon describe them, after I find my napkin-notes.

I was tipsy already, and on the Germany Pavillion they wouldn't accept Jonathan's license from Puerto Rico, because she said it wasn't an USA id.... My puertorican blood rushed fast and mad. Manager came to rescue at least.

River Rafting, Frog Legs and Cupcakes

My friends went water-rafting this past Saturday down the Ocoee River in the TN-NC-GA tri-state area. I, however went, but stayed with Ellie, taking care over our beautiful precious niece Andrea and watching the amazing world FIFA cup game of Argentina vs Iran, GO ARGENTINA!

They seemed to have a blast on the rafting thing, I have no desire on doing that nor will I recommend it because I didin't do it and not passionate about it.

However, we visited the Cup Cake Wars winners "The Sweet Shoppe",  A+ cupcakes! The best was "Miss Scarlet" which was red velvet. We went to a local mom and pops restaurant called Copper Kettle (at Ducktown, TN- haha loved the town name!). We tasted frog legs for the first time, they where fried and tasted like a hybrid of chciken and fish. Would have eaten more than two bites, but some of us where disgusted! It was fun though.

I went to visit Jorge to Phoenix, AZ and we drove to Las Vegas! At Yuanis wedding a friend told us that she and her boyfriend where going and Jorge agreed to go! We met another couple there and had a blast. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, next to the Bellagio, thanks to the Marriott Rewards points! Oh yeah!

(pictures coming soon!)

I started a new job! I love it so far.
Went to Washington DC / Leesburg, VA for some training and met amazing people. Hopefully made some new friends.

Don't think I will be traveling much, for work now. But let's see how it goes!

Labor day weekend is coming soon, let's what we plan!

It's been a while

Haven't updated much of my many recent travels, mainly because it has been a very rough patch of days. Stressed, over-whelmed and lots of decisions are being made.

But the latest of my trips include going back home to the Island of Enchantment for a run visit. I got my medical appointments done, got my apartment up to date, cleaned,  and welcomed a new housemate! Ricky! (Yuani's brother in law). Hopefully he takes good care of my home while I am away.

Another recent mini trip was to Athens, GA. A complete College town, which brought so many memories from my wild-hanging days in Mayaguez, PR. I behaved as such, like if I was in my college years, drinking and dancing with my girls Yuani, Liz, and Kelz. A great "College Night" for me, which in here, well, resulted in getting kicked out from a bar for "dancing" or "not wanting to dance" with a guy who was management, the facts are unknown and will never be known.

However we had a blast. The purpose of the trip was to for the "Spread the Love" Event at the 40 Watt Club. Yuani and me got to dance with the modern pin-ups of Atlanta, two songs. I got so nervous I went so fast, but it was worth it. We watched so many talented and amazing dancers from the Modern-Pin Ups of Athens and other dance companies.

I'm currently in my finals days in Norcross, GA and is a mixture of feelings. So blessed to work with these people and have learned so many things in this year! Yes, it is oficially a year and more since I came to Norcross last February 11th, 2013. Important date for me as I turned one year here, 26.5 years old (yikes) and also officially 6 months into my relationship with cute old curious Jorge.

I will be soon returning to Puerto Rico for a while, Yuani and Juan are getting hitch! (FINALLY!). I know the wedding will be beautiful and we will have a great time. Can't wait to wear my tutu bridesmaid dress.

Once I'm home, I most likely will pursue a different route in my life and close a chapter in my life. Hopefully I will be back to Atlanta sometime in April, maybe permanently. I might go visit Jorge wherever he might be, Florida or Arizona (I might push for us to go to Las Vegas!, but we will see). I am still figuring out what am I doing when I grow up.

One thing is for sure, Travel will always await me.

Tennessee Honey!

Couples Trip to do "snowboarding" and to stay in a Cabin for a first time. Must say the Cabin experience was a blast, totally loved it. Snowboard, well... It was okay.

Loved Gatlinburg, I was feeling under the weather but really want to go back. It is a very charming town.

Breaking Bride! Travel to ABQ

I always thought I'd visited Albuquerque on business travel. But lucky me, I got to visit to witness one of the most simple and perfect weddings of my days. My friend Natalia's wedding was absolutely beautiful and fun. From getting ready, having fun with the girls, wearing unbearable shoes, crying like Mary Magdalene during the vows and running barefoot through that large amazing hotel hallway. The candle unity ceremony, the spectacular cake, the favors, the picture taking, the adorable flower girl and of course the beautiful bride. The Isleta Resort and casino gets a 5 star from my part. I learned it used to be the Hard Rock Cafe Resort, and still had that essence of it. I am really grateful with the groom and his family with their amazing hospitality and the great job they did showing us around.

After the tour around the Pueblos and the town, I got the fever to start watching the TV series "Breaking Bad" which is now over, oh well, late start for me.

I definitely will be back!

Vacation, back at HOME

Trip back home was a busy one. Always had the calendar filled. It's tough when you are in a relationship, and I refuse to be one of those couples that head back home to their seperate way, their seperate life with each of their families. Yes, some personal time should be enjoyed, while it can be done, to spend privately, but Isn't the best opportunity to meet the in-laws and get to see what the future might look like? I have trust issues, not because of him, but from stories and tales I know to be true when couples start splitting up on holidays to spend some "quality" time with their loved ones, and a lot can happen. Besides, I adored every bit I spent with his family and when and he was with mine. He even got to meet "abuela" and that was fun and my little brother likes him a lot now, they share some good common ground. However, I didn't get too see a lot of my friends, since all of our calendars where busy. It was time for weddings, many couples got married, including my boyfriend's sister. I got to do some touches to my apartment, and that was time and money well spent. Got to do the female engineering meeting and it went a blast. The San juan airport and the rental cars did some new renovations. Now the rental place is right at the airport like most locations do. I got to know them very well since we used our one two three promo coupons the whole trip. Every three days we went for a new rental agreement. We drove a brand new, zero mileage mazda, which we put about 1.5k miles into it, and two different Jeeps.

Don't know when I"ll be back to Puerto Rico, but right now, im on my way to Alburquerque, NM! For a wedding. I get new shot glass for my collection!
