Island Girl at Island Home!

I'm finally home! And quite glad about it, though the heat has been tough. Just yesterday my friends in Georgia said the  temperature   over there got down to 65 degrees! No six flags water park for them.

I have done some extreme cleaning in the apartment, i have many things to throw out. This morning went back to the  gym for some kickboxing and hope to be there every day during this week so I can eat guiltlessly. Puertorican food is so yummy but it is so fatty!

After gym my friend and I went to a local farm market where i got the Quenepas I was hunting for, some island strong coffee and tostones of pana! The farmers of the tostones are actually engineers too! She studied mechanical engineering and her husband studied electrical engineering, like I did. Can't wait to fry those tostones, but I will wait for mom to do it because I am a disaster!  Coasties are the best!

As we kept our route to home I saw my favorite local bakery and begged to make a quick pit stop. I ordered my sandwich of egg, ham and cheese in our local bread which is heavenly. I got some passion fruit juice and guava juice as well. All for six bucks. My friend got actual food which looked delicious and they did a serving for two portion and all for six bucks too!

As we waited for our food, sipping some passion fruit juice, I had the pleasure to watch an old man play in the only gambling slot machine. I wondered how many times he do so. I saw the lady waiting to buy some bread for her family and felt the warmth of the people servicing with a big bright smile. I sighed, it sure feels good to be home. The Islanders life!

Bike Day!

It's been a while, but I haven't stopped visiting places. I have just been to the usual, Six Flags, local restaurants, Stonemountain (again and again).

Finally today I did something new. We (Jojo and I) rented bikes and went to the Greenway Trail in Roswell and Alpharetta. The rent for each bike was 25, which is not bad. Eventually I want my own here in GA, miss mine back at the Island.

Jojos was  mountain bike, mine wasn't since it was kind of a last minute thing. It was a fun outdoor experience, definitely doing it again. I just hope I can get a mountain bike so we can do the other trails.

Happy  Traveling!
